Description
The Troop Standard is the official way a Navigator or Adventurer Trailman displays his Trail Badges, as well as the pinnacle award in Trail Life USA, the Freedom Award.
Many Troops create their own walking sticks, but the Troop Standard is harvested for Trail Life USA and is sure to last for generations without cracking or attracting bugs. It is made of dark-stained and clear-lacquered chestnut – farmed, processed, and imported from forests in Europe – then provided by an American vendor. It is available for the boy who earns the Able Trailman Rank or the Journey Award.
Please note that the Troop Standard, Trail Life USA medallion, and an instruction sheet are shipped together, but require assembly.

Trail life is starting up with just ten years. Budgets are small so buying 6 standard at a time is expensive.

Our troop has been purchasing these for some time now and I have to say I was disappointed in the last batch. The older Troop Standards had character with notches and knots that you see from actual trees. These new standards look like Home Depot dowel rods with a veneer finish… I’m all for cutting cost but pass that down to the troops too.
